As the programme is only running on select modules, you will be informed by your lecturers if the opportunity is available to you. The PAL Coordinator will then explain in more detail PAL and the application process.

• PAL Leaders lead weekly sessions based on what has been agreed upon with their participants.
• They facilitate the learning of students and help guide them through the module by heading activities and group discussions
• They are trained in how to structure and lead flexible sessions so everyone can participate and enjoy them.
• PAL Leaders must also monitor and record attendance which is uploaded along with session plans and reviews to be made available to their Senior PAL Leader
• PAL Leaders do not teach, lecture or give out the answers.
• PAL Leaders do help with problem-solving, study skills, exam techniques, coursework and assignments, and presentations.
  
  

• Leaders can develop real-life transferable skills, often sought after in graduate jobs.
• Improve presentation skills and self-confidence.
• Develop facilitation skills by coaching other students, and gain an ability to tailor how concepts are communicated to different audiences.
• Development of time-management, improvisational, and troubleshooting skills
• PAL Leadership shows an employer that students have gone above and beyond their degree and have been interested in contributing to the wider University community.
• It counts towards the Red Award
