Do you need an en-suite?

If a room in halls with a wash basin does not meet your disability related needs and you need an en-suite, you may be eligible for financial assistance towards the cost of the en-suite. Students who need an adapted en-suite room may also be eligible for financial assistance towards the cost of the en-suite element. 

You may be eligible for an accommodation contribution if you meet the conditions below:

  • You live in a UPP (色狗导航) hall of residence and your room has an en-suite bathroom or is adapted with an en-suite bathroom;
  • You are registered with DAS and have provided supporting documentation with regard to your disability or long term medical condition; 
  • A room with wash basin does not meet your disability related needs and you would be placed at a substantial disadvantage in standard accommodation.

To apply for the accommodation contribution:

  • Register with the Disability Advisory Service.
  • Complete the .

To claim, you will need to provide proof of payment each term and ensure your bank details are up to date on RISIS. 

  • You only need to submit the Application Form with your first receipt.
  • Reimbursements will be processed termly.
  • Claims can only be made for the current academic year.
  • All claims must be submitted by the end of May for the current academic year.
  • Receipts must state your name, date of payment, and that the payment is for university halls accommodation. 
  • The instalments for each payment you have made for your accommodation are weighted at 40% (Autumn), 40% (Spring), 20% (Summer) and the reimbursements will be made to reflect this.

Please note: en-suite rooms, and adapted accommodation may be limited in number, and are assigned on a first-come first-served basis, therefore we cannot guarantee you will be placed in your first-choice of room.
