What to wear
You are required to wear academic dress聽(cap, hood, gown), which you should have hired or bought from Ede & Ravenscroft by the deadline. If you missed the deadline, please contact for your urgent request. Alternatively, you can hire your academic dress on the day with additional costs.
Graduation is a formal event, so you should wear smart clothing. Jeans and trainers are not allowed. Wear comfortable shoes, and if choosing high heels, we recommend bringing a spare pair to change into after the photos. We recommend wearing a buttoned blouse or shirt, which will make it easier for you to attach the hood to your clothing. We also suggest bringing safety pins to pin your hood in place, and hair grips for help secure your cap in place. Appropriate military dress or the national dress of your country is also allowed to be worn underneath your gown.
Please leave handbags, mobile phones, etc., with your guests. You will not be able to carry them with you in the procession to the Great Hall.
Please be aware, we reserve the right to prevent you from joining the procession and graduating on the day if you are not dressed appropriately in smart clothes. You would, in that case, graduate in absence.
Where can you collect your robes?
You should collect your robes from the robe collection point as soon as you arrive on the London Road campus on the day of your ceremony. There will be Student Ambassadors on site to guide you to the correct place. Representatives from Ede & Ravenscroft will be there to locate your hire order and to help you get into your academic dress. Once in your robes, you should join your fellow classmates in the Procession Marquee at the time indicated on the timings for the day page.
You should return your robes in 3Sixty on the Whiteknights Campus. For those not returning to the Whiteknights campus, a small returns drop box will be available on the London Road Campus at the student robes collection point.
