#PlanetPartners: working with global partners to protect the environment 

  • PhD student Chloe Brimicombe (Geography/Walker Institute) is quoted by the , , , , , , , , , , , and others on how well countries are equipped to deal with heat waves.
  • Argus (in print), , and  report on the launch of Reading FC’s new home kit, featuring Professor Ed Hawkins' (Meteorology) climate stripes, (read our news story);  reports on the University's partnership with gas-powered Reading Buses to also feature his stripes, (read our news story), and a columnist for writes they waved a flag at the Hanse Festival with his stripes on. 
  • reports on the University Atmospheric Observatory's official weather record for the heatwave, which broke all previous records. Dr Stephen Burt (Meteorology) and Professor Richard Allan (Meteorology) are quoted. Dr Burt also spoke to BBC Radio Berkshire on the lack of rainfall.
