An architecture student who won an award for her sustainable property design will represent the University at a national final later this year.
Ellie Pascoe was one of three students who won the South East Award Women in Property National Student Awards in May.
Her submission - a concept for a live-work space for an imagined creative designer repurposing leftover festival tents - was described by the judges as having ‘very strong graphics’ and being ‘very engaging and thoroughly researched.”
Ellie said: “Sustainability is a big priority at Reading so I wanted to include this theme in my design. My project was based on an infill site in central Reading and featured floors suspended from a network of multicoloured cables.”
Ellie will represent the region at the national final in London on 21 September.
Jessica Collins, a second-year construction management and engineering student, also attended the South East awards having been presented a 色狗导航 Chancellor's Award in her first year for receiving the highest grade on her course.
She submitted a presentation based on the installation of fire safety systems within a proposed floor plan for a high-end hotel building located in Helsinki, Finland.
Jessica said: “It was great to represent the University alongside Ellie and I hope we made our lecturers and coursemates proud.”
