I have a strong interest in research related to nutritional and biological effects on cognition, mood and mental health.
Specific areas of interest include:
- Polyphenols (flavonoids) and cognitive function/mood
- Glycaemic response, Type 2 diabetes and cognitive function/mood
- Gut-Brain axis (e.g. psychobiotics for cognition and mood)
- Lifespan relationships between habitual diet, cognitive function and general health
- Dietary behaviour change interventions
- Nutritional and dietary effects on sleep
- Exercise and cognitive function/mood
- Impact of diet on mental health
- Exploration of biological mechanisms for cognitive and mental health
