  • Access to full kitchen facilities so you can save money on meals by preparing your own
  • Access to associated communal areas, including social space and laundrette
  • 24 hour on-site Halls Hotline service and Security service

You can purchase other amenities, including kitchen equipment through Unikitout at  using the discount code UPREADING18 at the checkout to receive a 10% discount and free delivery on items over £70. Your delivery will be made to your hall reception for you to collect once you arrive. We recommend you select a delivery date one day before the date you are due to arrive.

If you need to, you can book a car parking space. The cost is £13.76 per month from 1 August 2024. This rate is not available on a pro-rata basis.

Can I pay in instalments?

All bookings must be paid for up-front. If you are requiring accommodation on a long term basis and payment up-front is not affordable for a long term booking, please make several shorter bookings to make payment more affordable. Bookings will not be made if you are in any accommodation debt.

Can I be allocated with friends?

Yes, as long as you have booked a room in the same hall. Please state your friend’s name(s) and booking reference numbers where possible in your booking notes. Each flat has an average of 8–10 bedrooms, so if there are more than 8–10 of you, we will not be able to allocate all of you together.

How can I get to campus?

Arrival instructions, including your hall address, are included in your booking confirmation email. Find out more information on reaching the 色狗导航.

Are there laundry facilities on campus?

There are laundries located within each hall group. All guests can download the Washstation app to use the laundry rooms on campus. You can . Details can also be found in the laundry rooms.

Can I check in early?

Check-in is at 2pm. If you need to check-in early, please call the halls hotline on 0800 029 1984 quoting your booking reference number to request an early check-in, although we cannot guarantee this.

How can I check in out of hours?

Our reception areas are staffed between 8.30am - 5.30pm Monday-Friday. If you arrive outside of these hours, you should use the call point located in the reception. This will contact our 24/7 security team who will assist with your check-in.

Can I extend my booking?

An extension in your current term-time room is not guaranteed; you will likely be required to move for your summer booking. Extensions to your booking can be made if the room is available for the extended period you require. Alternatively, we may be able to offer you an alternative room for this period, if your current or first room is unavailable.

Extensions must be made by 4.30pm on the afternoon before you are due to check-out and full payment must be received by the Stay@Reading team before an extension will be granted.

If you are due to check out on a Saturday or Sunday any extension requests must be made by 10am on the preceding Friday.

All bookings or extensions must be made online. If this is not possible, please email stay@reading.ac.uk. Bookings will not be taken over the phone.‘

We can accommodate bookings up until 14 September.

Can I shorten or cancel my booking?

If you wish to make any change to your booking, you must give us at least 10 clear working days notice of that change. Please be aware of our refunds policy:

Your notice to stay@Reading  Your refund entitlement
More than 10 working days prior to the change/cancellation  100% Refund
